Obituary for Virginia Smith Marlow

Carol Virginia Marlow went to be with her heavenly father on April 10th, 2019. Her devotion to family and her firm belief in God supported her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Virginia was born to the late Vol and Lorene Smith on July 8th, 1930. Virginia was blessed with a loving family and survived by 3 children, Tony, David and Steve (Marcy), 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Marlow; daughter-in-law, Carole Marlow; grandson, T.J. Marlow and brother, Freddie Smith.

Virginia worked in banking and real estate, but mostly was a homemaker devoted to her children and to the happiness of Milton, the love of her life to whom she was married 69 1/2 years. Virginia loved her many friends and Old Camp Methodist Church where she worshiped her Lord and Savior with endless devotion.

There will be a viewing and celebration of Virginia's life on Friday, April 12th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Almon Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at Almon Funeral Home on Saturday, April 13th, at 3:30 pm with Pastor Tom Compton officiating.

Pallbearers will be her grandson Chris Marlow, grandson Cass Marlow, grandson Joe Marlow, Doyle Akin, Ed Pizone, H.C. (Buggy) Pike, Gerald Putnam and Steve Jennings. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hardees' Breakfast Club.

Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Old Camp Methodist Church Building Fund, 77 Old Camp Church Road, Carrollton, Georgia 30117.
