Mrs. Shonda Violet Kidd Rowell, age 57 of Temple, Georgia died Saturday, September 14, 2013. Mrs. Rowell was born in Anniston, Alabama on November 20, 1955. She worked at Sony for over 20 years before having to start a new career. She enrolled in nursing school and was not only the oldest member of her class, but the Valedictorian as well. Mrs. Rowell was an LPN at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. She enjoyed working in her yard, had a huge heart for animals and a unconditional love for her family especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Chris Herren of Carrollton; son, Todd Rowell of Carrollton; grandchildren, Drew, Cara, Ryan, Jake, Jonah; sisters, Sharon Walker of Carrollton, Sharlene Sears of Anniston, Alabama, Sherry Clark of Munford, Alabama; fiancé, Barry Plutschak and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Carroll Kidd and brother, Randy Gene Kidd. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Monday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 17 at 2 o'clock at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Mr. Matt Rollins, Pastor Mike Wheeler officiating and Mrs. Brandy Herren giving the eulogy. Music will be by Brenda Cato. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Rollins, Ben Rollins, Hunter Rollins, Blaine Cota, Justin Cota and Jamey Foster. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
