Obituary

Norman Jackson Mr. Roy Norman Jackson, III, 59, of Fairfield Plantation, Villa Rica, GA passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011. Mr. Jackson was born in Carroll County on July 27, 1951, the son of Roy Norman Jackson, Jr. and Ruth A. Jackson Hewitt. Norman grew up in Carrollton and graduated from Carrollton High School, and West Georgia College. He was in the U. S. Air Force Reserves, and self employed and owner of Strictly Automotive and Georgia Printing Sales. He was a member of the Carrollton First United Methodist Church. He loved the lake, golf, bike riding, camping, and riding Mac, his horse. He loved hiking, and just being outdoors. Survivors include his wife, Alice Fulton Jackson, son, Curt Aldridge Jackson of Marietta, stepson, Matt Fulton of Eatonton, stepdaughter, Leigh Fulton of Carrollton, mother, Ruth A. Jackson Hewitt of Rome, father, Roy Jackson of Villa Rica, sister-in-law, Tish B. Jackson of Douglasville, Jesse (Becca) Jackson of Douglasville, father-in-law, Frank Searcy of Carrollton, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sue and Wilfred Boutilier of Dawsonville. He is preceded in death by his brother, Lance W. Jackson, and mother-in-law, Mary Gray Searcy. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 3 at 2 P. M. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Greer and Rev. Gerry Davis officiating. Music will be provided by Pat Reynolds and Jack Barr. Pallbearers will be Rusty Lambert, Peter Worthy, Steve Young, Jim Johnson, Wilfred Boutilier, Randall Byess, and Charles Rogers. The Class of 1969 will sit together as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 noon until 2 P.M. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Carrollton First United Methodist Church, 206 Newnan Street, Carrollton, GA 30117 or Green Belt Project Fund c/o Community Foundation of West Georgia, 807 S. Park Street, Carrollton, GA 30117. Messages of condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.almonfuneralhome.com. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens with Rev. Karla Otroszko officiating. Almon Funeral Home of Carrollton has charge of the arrangements.
