Mr. William Traylor Jr., age 95, of Carrollton, GA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 3, 2025.

Born on November 3, 1929, in Carroll County, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Traylor, Sr. and Emma Cosper Traylor. He was a 1947 graduate of Carrollton High School, where he lettered in four varsity sports and was president of the letterman's club. William also played on the first Trojan football team after World War II ended. He attended West GA College, and Emory University where he graduated with a degree in Business Administration.

A lifelong resident and dedicated public servant, William devoted much of his life to improving the community he so deeply loved. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and upon returning home, he began a long and impactful career in civic leadership. He was the Executive Director of the Carrollton Housing Authority for 13 years, City Manager and Community Development Manager for the City of Carrollton, and served on the Carrollton City Council for seven years. From 1962 to 1973, he owned and managed the well-loved local restaurant, T-Burger, which became a staple of the community during its time.

William was a faithful member of Carrollton First Methodist Church, where his quiet strength and steady presence were deeply valued. He was the first Eagle Scout of the troop sponsored by the First Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Patti Brown Traylor; and his loving children, Terri (Barry) Meeks, William P. "Trey" (Margaret) Traylor III, Sloane (Robert) Geiger, Susan Livingston (Donnie Cecil). He was a proud grandfather to Zach Meeks, Ty Meeks, Will Traylor, Andrew Traylor, Bo Traylor, Taylor Silva, Robert Geiger Jr., Cody Livingston, Colton Livingston and 14 great grandchildren. He also embraced his bonus family with love and pride, Allison (Nick) Perna and Lauren (Charles) James; and bonus grandchildren Karli, Adam, Noah, Bella, and Addi.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Betty Plexico Traylor; sister, Hilma T. Freeman; his nieces, Louise Cromer, Frances McKinney; grandchildren, Joe Deese and William Kirby Deese.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 5, 2025 from 6pm to 8pm at Almon Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at 3 o'clock from the Carrollton First Methodist Church with Pastor Travis Sneed officiating and William P. "Trey" Traylor, III, Zach Meeks and Thompson Lewis giving remarks.

Interment will follow in Carrollton City Cemetery with American Legion Post #143 providing military honors.

Pallbearers will be Ty Meeks, Zach Meeks, Bob Geiger, Robert Geiger, James Boling Traylor, William E. Traylor, Drew Traylor, William Paul Traylor, IV, Noah Charles and Barry Meeks.
