Mrs. Willene Warren Cooper age 95, of Carrollton, Georgia passes away on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
Mrs. Cooper was born on September 26, 1928 in Carrollton, Geogia the daughter of the late William Luther "Spruce" Warren and Dumah Phillips Warren. She was a 1947 graduate of Carrollton High School and was a member of the Tanner Auxiliary "Pink Ladies" where she volunteered for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Rebecca Martin Home and Garden Club and Stripling Chapel United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included painting and working with ceramics but her greatest devotion was to her family.
The family would like to thank the staff and Dr. Daniel Williams at Wiggins Medical Center, Tanner Medical Center and The Stewart House for their compassion and loving care.
Survivors include her children, Steve (Ruth Wilson) Cooper of Newnan, Georgia, Russell (Jane Denney) Cooper of Perry, Georgia, Joe (Gina Davis) Cooper of Centerville, Georgia; grandchildren Amy Oliver (Rocky) of Shelbyville, Kentucky, Allison Bullington (Nathan) of Louisville, Kentucky, Bethany Copeland (Brett) of Kathleen, Georgia, Patrick Cooper (Brittany) of Perry, Georgia, Jennifer Trussell (Brandon) of Bonaire, Georgia, and Jenison Carroll (Will) of Perry, Georgia and 17 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Kay Warren; brother-in-law, Gary Cooper and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Cooper; brothers, Robert Warren, Ferrell Warren; sister, Sara Akin; brothers-in-law, Bob Harris, Waymon Akin, Calvin Cooper; sisters-in-law Lucille Warren, Ann Cooper, Willie Maude 'Bill" Cooper, Betty Harris; and 1 great grandchild, Camille Elizabeth Bullington.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 2 PM from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Karen Kagiyama. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 PM until the service hour.
Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens with Rev. Julie Hatcher officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Stripling Chapel United Methodist Church, 830 Hwy 27 South, Carrollton, Georgia 30117 or The Stewart House, 102 South Street, Carrollton, Georgia 30117.
