Mr. Wayne Bivins Kirk, age 73, of Carrollton, GA passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016. Mr. Kirk was born on November 17, 1942 in Dalton, GA the son of the late C.B. Kirk and Dee Dunn Kirk. He grew up in Chatsworth, GA and served honorably in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the Terry School of Business at the University of Georgia and his MBA from West Georgia College. He was a avid Georgia Bulldogs fan and was a "Damn Good Dawg." He retired from the Information Technology Services Department at University of West Georgia after 27 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 52 1/2 years, Joan Hudson Kirk; daughter and son-in-law, Cayte Kirk and Scott Ellison of Dallas, GA; grandchildren, Reece Ellison and Ryan Ellison; aunt, Marilyn Dunn; uncle, Sherry Cole; cousins, Calvin Dunn and Pat Clayton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 noon until the service hour. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Davis, Dr. Don Stafford and Ms. Juli Taylor Larson officiating.
