Mr. Wayne Junior Allen, age 79 of Carrollton, Georgia died Friday, November 3, 2017. Mr. Allen was born in Heard County, Georgia on June 2, 1938, the son of the late Y.J. Allen and Lena Yearty Allen. He loved watching western movies and television, playing with and taking care of his nieces and nephews as if he was their own age. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his sisters and brother-in-law, Doris Rogers of Morrow, Georgia, LaVerne J. and Johnny Hayes, Newnan, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Gloria Allen of Carrollton and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Irene Garrett, Alene McKenzie, Buck Allen, Pete Allen, Melvin Allen, Jessie Mae Adams and Dolly Sorrells. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Sunday, November 5 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Funeral service will be at Almon Chapel, Sunday, November 5 at 3 p.m. with Dr. Melvin Payne officiating. Pallbearers will be Larry McKenzie, Dwayne Allen, Charlie "Bo' Rogers, Chris Rogers, Barry Taylor, Jimmy Ford and Tony Allen. Interment will be in Happy Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
