Wallace Talmadge Lambert died December 30, 2019. He was 88 years old. He was born in the clinic on college street in Carrollton on August 13, 1931. His parents were Rev. Lester Philip Lambert and Verdie Belle Wallace. He attended Bowdon Junction Elementary School, Mt. Zion High, West Georgia College and Georgia State University. There he earned a BBA in marketing and went on to work at First National Bank in Atlanta in the accounting department. He married Charlcie Jane Stallings on December 21, 1952. They lived in Columbus, Ohio while he was in the Navy during the Korean War. While in the Navy he was a Yeoman Petty Officer Second Class. In 1954 he and Charlcie returned to Atlanta and purchased the house that was their home for 32 years. Wallace returned to his job at First National Bank. He continued his education at night at Georgia State with 4 years of accounting, 4 years of management and 2 years of visual art. In 1956 Wallace went to work for the Internal Revenue Service as an agent. He worked as a field agent, instructor at the IRS training center, field audit group manager and regional analyst. He retired in 1986 after 30 years of service. After Charlcie also retired from the Internal Revenue Service in 1990 they moved back to Bowdon Junction where they assisted friends and relatives with their taxes. These friends and relatives helped Wallace make it thru the death of Charlcie in 2002. Wallace continued to assist with taxes until his death with the assistance of Linda Ragland who looked after him and her sister Pat Liner. Wallace was a member of First Baptist Church in Carrollton where Charlcie grew up. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Lester P. Lambert. Survivors include his children, Rebecca Kohlhagen of Marietta, Ga, David and Melanie Lambert of Bowdon Junction and Lynn and Andrew Frearson of Gloucester England, six grand children and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Saturday, January 4 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. A memorial service will follow the visitation in the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Davis officiating.
