Mr. Wallace T. Hancock, Sr., age 78 of Carrollton, Georgia died Friday, May 24, 2019.
Mr. Hancock was born in Marshall County, Alabama on February 19, 1941, the son of the late Bennett Ethel Hancock and Jewell Farmer Hancock. He had worked for Douglas and Lomason and Honey Baked Ham before beginning his career with Ford Motor Company. He retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 plus years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Tonya Thompson (Jeff Dilbeck) of Carrollton; sons, Willard (Anita) Hancock of Carrollton, Keith (Melanie) Hancock of Carrollton; daughter-in-law, Nellie Hancock of Leesburg, Alabama; grandchildren, David Kawai, Benjamin (Savannah) Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Devin Thompson, Brantley Hancock; 1 great granddaughter; brother, Edward (Bonnie Carol) Hancock of Carrollton; sisters, Linda (Ray) Morgan of Carrollton, Brenda (Buford) Kittle of Temple, Etheleene Freeman of Carrollton and Marcina (Robby) Cash of Centralhatchee and brother-in-law, J.C. Reid of Carrollton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Kidd Hancock; son, Wally Hancock; son-in-law, Scott Thompson; brother, Billy Ray Hancock; sisters, Viola Thrasher and Margaret Reid.
The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Hancock and Rev. Mark Haney officiating.
Pallbearers will be David Kawai, Benjamin Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Devin Thompson, Jerry Thrasher and Robert Coppett. Brantley Hancock will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens with Rev. Cecil Davis officiating.
