Mrs. Virginia Lois Watkins age 89, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013. Mrs. Watkins was born in Evansville, Indiana on August 19, 1924, the daughter of the late August E. Kunath and Bessie Amelia Rohda Kunath. She was a retired school teacher and member of First Baptist Church in Carrollton, Georgia. A lifelong Baptist, Mrs. Watkins spent much of her life in Christian pursuits including serving as church pianist and Sunday school teacher. She found great joy in her family, friends and music. Survivors include her daughter and sons-in-law, Carol and James Boyd of Carrollton; Barbara and Nelson M. Davidson of Dripping Springs, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Sally Watkins of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Caleb Boyd, Jesse Boyd, Rosanna Boyd, Amelia Huxley, Sarah Henline, Alice Davidson, Andrew Davidson, Matthew Watkins, Stephen Watkins, Laura Watkins; great grandchildren, Ioan Huxley, Opal Huxley, Patrick Henline, and Grace Henline; sister, Marian Kunath Windell of Oregon. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Watkins; brother, Curtis Everett and sisters, Ellen Louise and Majorie Kunath Hanson. Funeral services will be Friday, December 20 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Davis officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Grace Sunday School class. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Entombment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
