Vertie M. Koon, age 71 of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018. She was born in Carrollton, Georgia on October 12, 1946, the daughter of the late Clifford McIntosh and Vertie Maude Potts McIntosh. She retired as a secretary for Carroll County State Court and was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Steven Capes of Carrollton, Melissa and Greg Preusser of Locust Grove; brother, Dillard McIntosh of Bremen; sister, Myrna Griffin of Sapphire, NC, and five grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Reeves and a brother, Rudy McIntosh. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11 AM from Carroll Memory Gardens with Min. Richard Harrison officiating. The family will meet at Almon Funeral Home Saturday morning between 9:00 – 9:30 to line up for the funeral procession going to Carroll Memory Gardens. Immediately following the graveside service, a fellowship meal of remembrance will be held at: West Georgia Church of Christ, 1310 North Park Street, Carrollton, GA 30116.
