Velvin Eidson
Harris
Apr 21, 1933 — Jul 3, 2026
Mr. Velvin Eidson Harris, age 93, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026.
Born on April 21, 1933, Mr. Harris was the son of the late P. W. Harris and Mattie Eidson Harris. He was a faithful Christian whose life reflected his love for God, his family, and his community. A longtime member and deacon of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, he faithfully served the Lord and was a respected example of integrity, humility, and steadfast faith.
Following his graduation from high school, Velvin attended Berry College before being drafted into the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He proudly served his country before returning home to begin a lifetime of hard work and dedication. He retired as Maintenance Supervisor with Trent Tube after many years of faithful service.
Outside of work, Velvin found great joy in gardening and cattle farming. He had a deep appreciation for the land and spent countless hours tending his garden and caring for his cattle, continuing his farming endeavors until the remarkable age of 90. His strong work ethic, wisdom, and love of the outdoors left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
One of Velvin's greatest blessings was his family. He shared 70 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Syble Woodard Harris. Together they built a home centered on faith, love, and devotion, creating a legacy that will continue for generations.
