Mrs. Velma Inez Samples Griffin, 97, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025.

She was born on September 9, 1927, in Tallapoosa, Georgia, to the late Enoch Daniel Samples and the late Suela Mae Yarbrough Samples.

Velma devoted much of her life to her family and worked in sales at Mansour's and Sears. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Jo Griffin Webb (Dale); son, Mark Griffin (Audrey); sister, Frances Samples Brown; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Milton Griffin, Sr.; son, James Milton Griffin, Jr.; daughter, Susan May Griffin Eustace and a grandson.

A private family graveside service and inurnment will be held at Fort Benning Cemetery at a later date.
