Mr. Thomas "Tom" David Commander, age 61 of Palmetto, Georgia passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Mr. Commander was born in Fort Worth, Texas on February 17, 1953, the son of Cecil Allen "Buck" Commander and Flavia Stormant Commander. He worked as a property manager at Mellow Mushroom. Survivors include his daughter, Sara Jane Commander of Palmetto, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Beverly Commander of Lineville, AL, Walter and Lynn Commander of Powder Springs, GA, James and Sharon Commander of Sweetwater, NJ; nephew, Michael (Debbie) Commander; niece, Charlotte (Ben) Causey; nieces, Rachel and Julia Commander; nephew, John Allen Commander; great nephew, Michael Commander III; great great nephew, Kennedy Formico; great niece, Victoria (Nick) Formico; great niece, Britney Commander and great great niece, McKenzie Burton. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Rico United Methodist Church in Palmetto, GA. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time.
