Mrs. Teresa Martin Simpkins, age 63 of Carrollton, Georgia died Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Mrs. Simpkins was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 30, 1952, the daughter of the late Preston Junior Martin and Frances Louise Huston Martin. She retired from CS Bank having worked as a bank officer in asset collection and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Aidan Simpkins of Carrollton, Adam and Marci Simpkins of Newnan; grandchildren, Rileigh, Kalynn, Preston, Andrew, James; sisters, Sandra Mayo of Newnan, Regina Gunn of Hiawassee, Lynn Gilder of Gainesville. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodie Lloyd Simpkins and brothers, Junior Martin, Daniel Martin and Gary Martin. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 4 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. David Huckeba officiating and family members giving remarks. Music will be by Sam Johnsen. Pallbearers will be Michael Mayo, Cody Gilder, Matthew Martin, Caleb Mayo, Gabriel Mayo and Alex Martin. Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ALS Research, Georgia Chapter, 5881 Glenridge Drive, Suite 200, Atlanta, GA 30328.
