Obituary

Mrs. Shelli Dawn Davenport Roden, age 42, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018. Shelli was born in Carrollton, Georgia on December 22, 1975, the daughter of Charles "Chuck" Martin Davenport and Cindy Dodson Kemp. She is a 1994 graduate of Haralson County High School and earned an associates degree in radiological sciences from West Central Technical College in 2000. She worked as a radiologic technologist at Carrollton Orthopedic Clinic for 16 years, was involved with the Central Elementary PTO and a member of Roopville Road Baptist Church. Shelli loved spending time with her family and friends and cheering on her boys and nephews during their various sporting activities. Shelli was a loving and devoted wife, mother, aunt, daughter, sister and friend to everyone she came in contact with. Survivors include her husband, Craig Roden; sons, Tyler and Jack Roden; mother and stepfather, Cindy and Terry Kemp of Carrollton; father and stepmother, Chuck and Rhonda Davenport of Buchanan; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Hope Davenport of Ranburne, Alabama; nephews, Eli Davenport, Drew Davenport, Sam Davenport; grandparents, Pheobe Hamrick, Michael and Joyce Howell, and Carol Kemp; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Linda Roden of Wellington, Alabama; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandra and Blu Gowens; nieces, Emily, Laura, Katie, Rachel, Kayla and great niece Nora. The family will receive friends at Roopville Road Baptist Church on Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Roopville Road Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Peeples and Rev. Ken Bowman officiating. Music will be provided by Angie Hawkesworth and Melissa Adams. Pallbearers will be Tim Wood, Todd Wood, Brandon Hammond, Josh Hawkesworth, Keith Rainwater and Mike Loftin. Honorary pallbearers will be the administration and staff of Carrollton Orthopedic Clinic. Interment will be in Roopville Road Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Educational Fund for Tyler and Jack, 319 Treasure Trail, Carrollton, Georgia 30117.
