Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Forbus, of Carrollton, Georgia, peacefully passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the age of 89. Born on October 14, 1934, in Eclectic, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late John Lumpkin and Edna Cotton Lumpkin.

Sarah dedicated much of her life to service and work. She was a retired administrative secretary, having dedicated 20 years of service to HB Fuller Glue Company. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her involvement at Shady Grove Baptist Church, where she had served as a part-time secretary, an active member of the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class, and had assisted her husband in maintaining the church grounds. She had a green thumb and found solace in planting flowers and gardening. Her cooking brought happiness to those around her, and she cherished the time with family. Sarah also enjoyed shopping and found great delight in picking up her great-grandchildren from school, showering them with love and affection.

Survivors include her devoted husband of 69 years, Steve Forbus; loving daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Dale Alexander; cherished grandchildren, Heather and Bryn Speck, Heath Alexander; adored great-grandchildren and their spouses, Kayley and Tristan Provence, Keelan and Taylor Biseda, Hadley Alexander; sister, Betty Allen; and sister-in-law, Sue Lumpkin. Sarah was preceded in death by her brothers, Rudolph, Bill, Jack, and Robert Lumpkin.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Sarah's life will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 2 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Mike Harris and Rev. Ricky Shadrix. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends at the church from noon until the hour of the service. Following the service, interment will take place in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
