Sara B. McGarrity Mrs. Sara B. McGarrity, 98, W. Honeysuckle Lane, Carrollton passed away Thursday, December 23, 2010. Mrs. McGarrity was born in Carroll County on September 14, 1912, the daughter of the late Samuel H. Burns and Susan Sewell Burns. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, Brian D. McGarrity of Carrollton and granddaughter, Kelly E. Evans of Crystal Lake, Il. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter R. McGarrity, sisters, Nell Ozburn, Miriam Hamm, Rachael Richardson, brothers, W. Roy Burns, Robert M. Burns, George H. Burns, and Howard M. Burns. Graveside services will be Wednesday, December 29 at 2 p.m. at Carroll Memory Gardens with Dr. Steve Davis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be sent to the First Baptist Church, Praise Faith, 102 Dixie Street, Carrollton, GA 30117.
