Margaret Ruth Buckles Pierce, age 85, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024.

Ms. Pierce was born in Elizabethtown, Tennessee on January 31, 1939, the daughter of the late, Joseph Buckles and Grace Buckles.

She was a retired factory worker for Raytheon. She was a member at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where she was active in the Joyful Hearts Sunday School Class and Young at Heart Senior Adult Group.

Ruth, known to most of us as Mama and Nana, loved God and her family fiercely. Taking care of Adam, Jonathan, and Emily was one her greatest blessings. Ruth loved taking care of her plants, cooking, and watching David Jeremiah preach the gospel. We will always cherish the memories and times spent with Ruth and can't wait to be reunited with her in the house of the Lord.

She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Pierce Shontz (Skip); grandchildren, Adam Richardson (Sara), Emily Robinson, Jonathan Robinson (Cassidy), Ken Shontz (Betsy), Dana Bosi (Kris); great grandchildren, Pierce Richardson, Arthur, Leon, Winnie, Gabriel Bosi; siblings, Judy Grindstaff, Lula Garland, Laura Durham, Wade Buckles; best friend, Carolyn Morrow. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Hunter Buckles; and sister, Essie Lewis.

Funeral service be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 3 PM at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Dr. John Pennington officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 PM until the service hour.

Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers, Dwain Mathis, Johnathan Robinson, Adam Richardson, Alan Skaggs, Chad Morris and Chad Wood.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Joyful Hearts Sunday School Class.
