Our beloved father, Rudy Allen Webb, age 69, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024 surrounded by his daughters.
He was born to parents Rudolph "Rudy" Frank Webb and Eula Mae Arrington Webb, on October 4, 1954, in Coral Gables, Florida. At an early age, Rudy was affectionately known as Allen to his closest family and friends. Rudy graduated with honors from Carroll City Sr High in Miami, Florida, and George T. Banke Aviation School, Class of 1972. While growing up in Opa-Locka, Florida, with the support of his parents, he became an accomplished Motocross Rider. In the 1970's Rudy competed in national championships and won many Pro and Semi-Pro Motocross titles and trophies. He was featured in several Motocross Magazines and newspaper articles during that decade. Rudy and his brother, David, enjoyed playing competitive softball for Rudy's Raiders, their father's namesake team that he managed and coached.
In the late 1970's, Rudy moved to Carrollton, Georgia to start a family and worked for Goodyear Tire Company in Carrollton, GA as a mechanic for several years. He then moved onto MARTA as a Body Technician Supervisor where he retired. In later years, Rudy became a member of Arise Community Church in Tallapoosa and regularly attended Sunday and Wednesday night services at Mt. Zion Baptist in Whitesburg. He was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan and Atlanta Braves supporter. He enjoyed traveling on many deep-sea fishing expeditions and sharing his prized catches with friends and family. Rudy had a free spirit and loved being on the go. He was an avid Motorcycle Rider and loved riding his Harley's with friends and sharing his testimony to the motorcycle community.
Rudy is survived by his daughters, Lisa Webb and Laura Webb Frey (fiance Jody Wood); granddaughters, Jenna Frey and Riley McKibbin; grandson, Christian Webb; brother, David (Sheri) Webb; niece Taylor (Josh) Armstrong and numerous cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his father and mother.
In honoring our fathers wishes, his body will be cremated and his ashes scattered by family and friends at his favorite places. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Arise Community Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arise Community Church, PO Box 584, Bremen, GA 30110 and/or Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 8414 GA-5, Whitesburg, GA 30185.
