Mr. Ronald "Ronnie� B. Strickland, 59, of West Carroll Road, Carrollton died Saturday, June 6, 2009. Mr. Strickland was born in Carroll County on June 28, 1949, the son of the late Arnold Roy Strickland and Mary Ruth Holland Strickland. He was employed at Sunbelt Marketing as a warehouseman, and also had worked at Gables Sporting Goods. Mr. Strickland was a retired veteran of the Georgia Army National Guard having served 27 years from 1969 to 1996.He was a member of the Consolation Baptist Church. Survivors include wife, Patti Daniell Strickland, son and daughter-in-law, Gordon "Paul� and Beth Strickland of Houston, Texas, granddaughter, Eleanor Brynn Strickland, sister and brother-in-law, Connie Sue and Gene Stewart of Douglasville, step-mother, Eugenia Bonner Strickland of Newnan, step brother, Rick Bonner of Jacksonville, FL, and step sister, Dr. Rhonda Bonner Rogers of Carrollton. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas James Strickland. Memorial services will be Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 11 am at Consolation Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Powers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm. Memorial contributions may be sent to Consolation Baptist Church Building Fund.
