Robert Glenn Holmes Jr, age 75, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026.

Born December 1, 1950, in Carrollton, Georgia, Mr. Holmes was the son of the late Bobby Holmes and Katheryn Lancaster Holmes. A 1969 graduate of Carrollton High School, he carried with him a lifelong love for his hometown and its people.

Glenn was a member of First Baptist Church of Carrollton. He was widely known and respected for his passion and natural artistic talent in photography, which became both his calling and his legacy. He was able to provide everyone in the local area with beautiful photography and portraits, preserving cherished memories for families that will last lifetimes. He touched countless lives by capturing happy memories and encouraging others to see the beauty in everyday moments. Glenn opened Holmes Photography in 1981 and worked his photography magic for over 40 years. He shot over 500 weddings in five states and was awarded numerous national merits in print competitions. Among these great achievements, his favorite may have been creating and shooting all the photos for local football programs. Being a lifelong Trojan, he held a special place in his heart for the Trojan football program. He tirelessly and selflessly gave back to his community through perfecting the program year after year and was honored to serve as the official sports photographer for the Carrollton High School Trojans, preserving generations of student athletes and school pride through his lens. For his dedication, he was proud to accept an induction into the Trojan Hall of Fame in 2021. He was also voted the Times-Georgian #1 rated photographer of the year in 2016.

Glenn also enjoyed cheering on his Georgia Bulldogs, the thrill of water skiing, jet skiing, and the excitement of dirt track racing. More recently, his adventurous spirit found new outlets in flying drones and riding his electric bikes—always embracing new technology and perspectives. He was a true fun seeker with a heartwarming smile and giggle that many will remember fondly.

Above all, he cherished his family. He is survived by his wife, Vicki Perry Holmes; his daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey and Dave McKenna; and his beloved grandchildren, Carly McKenna and Brady McKenna. He is also survived by his brothers, Steven Holmes (Susan) and Bryan Holmes (Dana); his sister, Susan Hall (Bill); and a number of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life to honor Glenn's memory will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 1 PM to 5 PM at The WPA Center - Rock Gym, 590 N. Cliff Street, Carrollton,  GA 30117.
