Richard Thomas Meeks, age 79, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025.

Born on August 24, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia, Richard was the beloved son of the late David Richard Meeks and Ruenette Deaton Meeks. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and later earned his bachelor's degree in History from West Georgia College.

Richard dedicated over 20 years of his career to serving the community as Director of Cobb Senior Services, where his leadership and compassion made a lasting impact on countless lives.

Outside of his professional life, Richard found joy in woodworking, fishing, and gardening. He also had a passion for classic cars. He loved spending weekends at the local farmers market, where he sold his handmade creations and homegrown goods.

He is survived by his loving wife, Terry Meeks; his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Tara Meeks; and his grandson, Tyson Meeks, who brought him endless pride and happiness. He is also survived by his sister, Davene Strawser; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Barbara Meeks, and Tim and Jenny Meeks; brother-in-law and wife Billy and Leslie Banister; and many nieces and nephews.

Aside from his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Choate.

Keeping with his wishes, his body was cremated and no services are planned at this time.
