Dr. Richard Lanham Logan, age 85 of Villa Rica, Georgia died Friday, August 12, 2016. Dr. Logan was born in Rome, Georgia, the son of the late Joe Carl Logan and Bonnie Lanham Logan. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army, a member of The American Speech and Hearing Association and St. Margarets Episcopal Church. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1959 and 1962 receiving his Bachelor of Arts and Master degrees. Dr. Logan received his Doctorate of Philosophy from Georgia State. He was retired professor of Speech Pathology at the University of West Georgia. Survivors include his sisters and brothers-in-law, Lynda and Jimmy King of Claxton, Georgia, Gayle and Howard Sewell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Brenda and Gerald Faver of Carrollton, Georgia and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother who raised him after the death of his mother, Kate Whitlock Logan; sister, Betty Bohannon and brother, James Logan. Memorial service will be Monday, August 15 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Chris King, Rev. Jerry Faver and Rev. Danny Garrett officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time.
