Mr. Richard Sydney Grant, age 76, of Heflin, Alabama passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021. Mr. Grant was born in Ellijay, Georgia on July 21, 1944, the son of the late James Monroe Grant and Mollie R. Pendergrass Grant. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army. He was a retired shipping and receiving supervisor for Sears & Roebuck in Atlanta and later worked for Lowes. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dwayne Wiggins; son and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Andi Grant; grandchildren, Tyler Grant, Sydnee Grant, Dylan Wiggins, Chase Wiggins, Logan Grant and Dalton Wiggins; mother of his children, Carolyn Grant-Bogguss. Besides his parents his was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Dudek. Due to his wishes his body was cremated and the family will hold a private family service at a later date.
