Richard Tullis Culpepper, 81, returned to His Heavenly home on Saturday, February 24, 2024, after a long and courageous battle. Richard was born in Blakely, Georgia on March 13, 1942, to parents Everett and Earnestine Culpepper. His mother unfortunately passed away early in his life, and Everett married Agnes Culpepper who lovingly raised Richard until her passing. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two brothers, Steve and Larry.

In 1965, Richard married his sweetheart, Patty and they began to build a beautiful life together over the next 59 years. Richard's life was full of unconditional love, family, friends but most importantly showing and telling anyone who he encountered about the love and hope he had in Jesus Christ.

Richard was a big man with a bigger heart. Nothing made him happier than spending countless hours over his grill cooking and entertaining and loving and giving to his family and friends with all his heart. He was a loyal friend and protector of all he loved.

Richard was a captivating storyteller and always looked forward to the next adventure. His love of golf, fishing and hunting all over the world left him as well as those with him, a lifetime of special memories.

He was exceptionally smart and always a hard worker. He built relationships in the Commercial Real Estate industry over 40 years that were as much about business as they were about Jesus. He loved serving his community, his church, friends, and strangers in any area that was needed. His ministry reach was from Texas to Africa, all while telling of his faith and giving others the hope that he had because of Jesus. There will certainly be countless friends, family and strangers in heaven because of him.

Richard is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patty Riley Culpepper, daughter Andrea Mack (Brian), son Brad Culpepper (Krissy), 5 grandchildren, Max Driver (Kellie), Jett Driver (Hannah), Maverick Mack, Carley Culpepper, Tucker Culpepper, and one great-grandson, Bo Driver along with one brother, Ronnie Culpepper.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 2:00pm at Carrollton First Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at Carrollton First Methodist Church from 12:00 noon---2:00pm before the service.

Ministers for the service will be Dudley Hall, John Knox, Joy Griffin and music will be provided by Pat Reynolds and Brad Gambrell.

The Believers Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Richard's wishes were to be cremated, with his ashes spread at his beloved Ranch in Mineral Wells, Texas at a later date.
