Rev. Woodrow Wilson Hudson, Jr., age 87, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

He was born on August 31, 1938, in Booth, Alabama, to the late Woodrow Wilson Hudson, Sr. and Donie Sellers Hudson.

Rev. Hudson devoted his life to ministry and service. A lifelong minister of the Gospel, he faithfully served congregations across Alabama, Mississippi, and Georgia. His pastoral assignments included Robinsonville Baptist Church in Atmore, Alabama; Agricola Baptist Church in Agricola, Mississippi; Butler Baptist Church in Butler, Georgia; Glenwood Hills Baptist Church in Macon, Georgia; Hilton Terrace Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia; Ash Street Baptist Church in Forest Park, Georgia; First Baptist Church of Douglasville, Georgia; and Trinity Baptist Church in Carrollton, Georgia.

He pursued higher education with dedication, earning degrees from William Carey University, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, Emory University, and Immanuel Bible College & Theological Seminary. He later retired after serving as Director of Chaplaincy for the State of Georgia.

Beyond the pulpit, Rev. Hudson was deeply committed to community service. He was a member of the Sertoma Club, serving as International President, and the Rotary Clubs of Columbus, Georgia, and Wedowee, Alabama. In 1996, he was honored to be among those who carried the Olympic Torch through Carrollton during the Atlanta Olympic Games.

An avid athlete throughout his life, Rev. Hudson ran a half marathon at age 50, completed two triathlons alongside his daughter, and participated in the Peachtree Road Race for 25 years. He also enjoyed playing golf with his family and the West Georgia Senior League at Oak Mountain Golf Club.

He was preceded in death by parents, Woodrow and Donie Hudson, daughter Teresa Ann Hudson and brother Thomas Clyde Hudson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Betty Coleman Hudson; his children Lisa Lynn Hudson, Kevin Woodrow Hudson (Gaye), grandchildren, Tyler Lipham (Chandler), Connor Lipham (Maddie), Reagan Hudson, great-grandchildren, Scottie Lipham, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Tanner Hospice and Barclay House for their loving care.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Carrollton. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Dr. David Hughes, with eulogies given by Dr. Stan Scroggins and Charles Smith.
