Ramona Carmen Burnette, age 81, of Carrollton passed away on January 31st, 2026. Carmen was born on June 12, 1944, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late William James Eagle Jr. and Bertie Rae Hobbs Eagle.
Carmen's desire to become a wife and mother began early in life when she married her true love at the age of 19. She married the late David Michael Burnette on October 26, 1963. Carmen and David were very happily married for 61 years.
Carmen's interests were many and varied. She found joy in working wherever needed to provide a Christian education for her three daughters. Carmen loved telling others about Jesus, spending time with her husband and life-long friends, shopping for antiques, decorating for various occasions, visiting the North Georgia Mountains, and above all, loving on her 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Faith was a cornerstone of Carmen's life. She claimed the Blood of Jesus as her only way to heaven when she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior according to the Scriptures: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
Carmen was a dedicated member of Journey Fellowship Baptist Church in Bremen, Georgia.
Carmen is survived by her daughter Paige Andrews and her husband, Jeff; granddaughter Caitlyn Faulkner and her husband, Mat, and their children, Adeleigh, Kynnlee, and Kylie; granddaughter Chelsea Olivas and her husband, Pedro, and their son, Rowan, with a baby boy expected soon; and her grandson, Jameson Andrews, and his fiancée, Donie Parrish.
She is also survived by her daughter Brittney Mabe and her husband, Chris; granddaughter Hannah Wessinger and her husband, Seth, and their children, Hawk, Sevvy, Sorelle, and Battle; and grandsons Courtland Mabe and his wife, Ashton, Maston Mabe, and Joshua Mabe.
She is further survived by her daughter Rachel Kempf and her husband, Matthew; grandson Chandler Dexter and his wife, Rebekah, and her granddaughters, Salem, Emma, and Brooklyn.
Carmen is also survived by her sister-in-law, Debbie Harrington, and her husband, Jack.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, her infant daughter, Angel Burnette, her Brother W.J.Eagle III, sisters, Yvonne Gordon, Marlene Tidwell, and younger brother, Lionel Eagle.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 3 PM to 5 PM at Almon Funeral Home, followed by the Celebration of Life service in the chapel at 5 PM. Family members will give the eulogy, and Pastor John Lemmings will officiate.
