Peter Pih
Peter Pih, long time resident of Carrollton GA, past away on Sunday, October 4th. Born in 1920 in Chang-Chou, China, Peter attended North Central University in Chungking. During WWII, he served in the Chinese Army as an English translator for US forces in Vietnam. After moving to the US, Peter attended graduate school at Oregon State University in Corvallis and University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Peter worked at several major companies including Leo Burnett, General Mills, Colgate Palmolive, Bristol-Meyers and Quaker Oats; on well-known brands like the Pilsbury dough boy, Betty Crocker kitchens, Ultra Brite toothpaste, Bufferin, and Captain Crunch cereal. Peter taught Advertising and Marketing at West Georgia College for many years before retiring. Many of his students can be found in well known Carrollton companies, a fact he was always proud of. Peter was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and its Senior Adult Choir: The Praise Singers. Peter is survived by a sister, a brother, a son and grandson. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 6 from 5p.m. until 7 p.m and Wednesday, October 7 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. A memorial service will be Thursday, October 8 at 11 a.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Gentry officiating.
