Obituary

Ecclesiastes 12:7 (ESV)

"And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it."

Patricia W. Carter, a long-time resident of Carrollton, Georgia, was born in Kannapolis, North Carolina on September 9, 1942 and she was welcomed home into the loving arms of her Savior on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Mrs. Carter devoted 39 years to teaching elementary school children in Cary, North Carolina; Lawrence, Kansas; and the Carrollton City School System in Carrollton, Georgia. Teaching was her calling, and she served faithfully, believing education to be a gift from God and a means of shaping young hearts and minds.

A proud North Carolinian, she was a lifelong fan of the UNC Tar Heels and also cheered devotedly for the Atlanta Braves, sharing her joy and enthusiasm with family and friends.

Her relationship with Jesus was central to her life, and she loved her faith community of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Christopher Williams and Thomas Kenneth "Ken" Williams; and her parents, Lawrence Williams and Muriel Patricia Farrell Williams.

Survivors include her sister, Betty Lee; nieces, nephews, and Kip Carter.

Mrs. Carter was cremated according to her wishes.
