Obituary

Mr. Olin Monroe "Monk" McIntosh, age 74, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at his home in Carrollton. Mr. McIntosh was born in Carroll County on January 3, 1937, the son of the late Charly McIntosh and Bay McIntosh. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Deputy Sheriff for Carroll County under Carl Townsend. He was the owner of Monk's Grocery for 50 years and member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Martha Grizzard McIntosh, of 56 years; daughters and son-in-law, Janice and Mark Johnson and Deanna Holloway, all of Carrollton; grandchildren, Jamie Dean, Abby Dean, Jacob Holloway and Dylan Holloway; great grandchild, Colton Dean; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Annelle McIntosh of Iron City, GA. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Hubert McIntosh and Thomas McIntosh. Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 2 pm from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Caldwell officiating. Pallbearers will be James "Runt" Entrekin, Frank Turner, Jacob Holloway, Kenny Williams, Jerry Searcy, Billy Holloway, and Dylan Holloway The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5 to 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tanner Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1136 Carrollton, GA 30112. Interment will be in the Carrollton City Cemetery with Rev. Milford Ballenger officiating.
