Mrs. Nellie Mae Sweatmon, age 83 of Carrollton, Georgia died Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Mrs. Sweatmon was born in Florence, Alabama on August 12, 1931, the daughter of the late George W. Anders and Jennie Mae Corter Anders. She worked as a bindery in the printing industry and was a member of Happy Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Lee McKiness of Jonesboro, Brenda Campbell of Carrollton, Sharon Allen of Piedmont, South Carolina, Sheila and Ron Pettit of Carrollton, Theresa and Mike Leatherwood of Greenville, South Carolina; son, Timothy Cook of Carrollton; sister, Mary Galloway of Douglasville; brother, Lawrence Anders of Douglasville; 16 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Sweatmon and son, Larry E. Cook. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 24 at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Nabors officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Campbell, James Clark, Dagen Campbell, Chad Pettit, David Bowen and Mark Smith. Interment will be in Mozley Memorial Gardens.
