Obituary

Nathan Theodore (Ned) Simons, 31, of Carrollton died unexpectedly on December 26, 2007. Born January 8, 1976 in Carrollton he dearly loved listening to and making music. Ned was the first chair trombonist in his high school band and later played bass guitar in several local groups. Upon graduation from Carrollton High School in 1994, he earned a Hope Scholarship and attended Georgia State University, graduating in May, 2000 with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. He is survived by his parents Ted and Georgia Simons of Carrollton; brother and sister-in-law Matthew and Tammy Simons, and nephew Aaron Michael Simons, all of High Point, North Carolina; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins including two very special aunts - Aunt Dee (Dolores Paulson) of Carrollton, and Aunt Jane (Jennie McIntyre) of Adelphi, Maryland. His maternal grandparents, George and Lysle Paulson of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and paternal grandparents, Nathan and Willie Mae Simons of Miami, Florida, preceded him in death. Visitation for friends and family will be Saturday, December 29, from 5-7 pm at Almon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria Virginia, 22312. In accordance to his family's wishes, his body was cremated.
