Obituary

Mrs. Naomi Jane McNair Britton, age 97, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

Mrs. Britton was born in Mitchell, Georgia on December 6, 1926, the daughter of the late, Fred E. McNair and Thelma Lucille Williams McNair.

She was retired from the Federal Government and was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a world traveler and loved to cruise. She enjoyed problem solving in finances and real estate investments. One of her favorite hobbies was cooking and preparing seafood dishes. Most of all she took on the role as matriarch for her family and had a special gift of helping others.

She is survived by her sister, Martha Edith Mathews; stepson, Jim (Debbie) McKinney; step grandchildren, Lacey, Matthew; nephews, Dail Morris, Lee Mathews, Daryl Mathews, Vince McNair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Ronald Britton; brothers, James Gilbert McNair, Ferrell McNair; sister, Margurite McNair Morris and stepson, Bill McKinney.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 10 am to 11 am at the First Baptist Church Carrollton. Funeral service will follow at 11 am with Rev. Adam Cliff Mathews and Dr. David Hughes officiating.

Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens with members of the family serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Britton's memory to First Baptist Church, 102 Dixie Street, Carrollton, GA 30117.
