Mrs. Nancy Gattis Frank, age 78 of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on November 5, 2024. She was born in Rome, Georgia on December 24, 1945, the daughter of the late William Raymond Gattis and Lois Brown Gattis. At the age of three her family moved to Newnan, Georgia.
After receiving her degree in early childhood educations from West Georgia College, she taught first grade at Maple Street School later Carrollton Elementary School for 31 years. Following her retirement, she has been active in the Carrollton community serving on various boards and committees, UWG Alumni Board, Neva Lomason Library Board/Friends of the Library.
She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. During her 58 years of dedication to the church, she volunteered and served on various committees. Nancy kept a full calendar to kindle the relationships that she built over the years. Events such as Faith Group, Book Club and regular luncheons with retired teacher friends kept her active.
Nancy lived a beautiful, dignified life. A discerning woman of exquisite taste, providing comfort and solace while asking little in return. Her husband, Ron, adored her and together they taught their children, Scott, Laura and John, integrity, loyalty and compassion, imbuing them with the confidence necessary to pursue life with a pervasive, contagious fervor. As Nana she offered wise counsel, a gentle spirit and endless love to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She led with example showing what it meant to live a life filled with grace, compassion and love.
Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, Ronald Frank; children, Scott (Kim) Frank of Omaha, NE, Laura (Joey) Morris of Alabaster, AL and John (Candie) Frank of Bowdon, GA; grandchildren, Meghan (Trey) Gaddis and Molly Morris of Montgomery, AL, Reid Frank and Erin Frank of Omaha, NE, Morgan (Jacob) McLeod of Newell, AL; great-grandchildren, Kennedi, Jackson and Paisley of Montgomery, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Lois Gattis.
The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 4 PM – 7 PM with a Rosary beginning at 7 PM.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Father Joseph Wagner officiating.
Interment will follow in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 210 Old Center Point Road, Carrollton, GA 30117 in Nancy's memory.
