Obituary

Mr. Harold Aubrey Cook, age 87 of Carrollton, Georgia died Monday, January 27, 2020. Mr. Cook was born in Carrollton, Georgia on February 2, 1932, the son of the late A. B. Cook and Ruby Burk Cook. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army and during his working career he was employed at General Motors. Mr. Cook was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, enjoyed gardening and hunting but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Myrtle W. Cook; daughter and fiancé, Patricia Cook and Marshall Parker of Carrollton; grandchildren, Melanie Fisher, Emily Cook, Rachel Williams; great grandchildren, Hannah, Kaylin, Madison, Jaret and Riley; brothers, Bud Cook, Min. J.C. Cook. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by sons, Wayne Cook, C.H. Cook, Millard Cook; brothers, Ellis Cook, Charles Cook; sister, Evelyn Smith and great granddaughter, Amber Nicole Holloman. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Brown officiating. His body will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the service hour. Pallbearers will be Randall Sticher, Frank Kenerly, Mitch Cheatwood, Carl Smith, Stan Pethel and Gary Sellers. Honorary pallbearer will be Tony Driver. Interment will be in Ephesus Christian Church Cemetery with Min. J.C. Cook and Min. Tim Cook officiating. American Legion Post #143 will provide military honors. Messages of condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.almonfuneralhome.com.
