Mrs. Miriam Crook Horton of Carrollton, Georgia passed away Monday, April 20, 2020. Mrs. Horton was born in Carroll County, Georgia, the daughter of the late Elbert George Crook and Alma Ruth Freeman Crook. Mrs. Horton was employed with Sony Music for over 20 years before retiring. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carrollton where she attended the Adult Friendship Sunday School Class and served on the Food Committee. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kay Horton of Carrollton; daughter, Djuana Horton of Carrollton; daughter-in-law, Debbie Horton of Sandrock, Alabama; grandchildren, Christopher (Elizebeth) Horton and their daughter, Tinsley of Carrollton, Lindsey (Collin) Humphrey of Sacramento, California, Sarah Horton of Brooklyn, New York, Mariah Horton of Atlanta, Georgia; Cofer Horton of Carrollton; step grandson, Cody Johnson of Sandrock, Alabama; sisters-in-law, Carol Crook and Doris Crook. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Horry D. Horton; son, Robert Horton; brothers and sisters, Melton Crook, Mary Nell Lands, Ellis Crook, Bobby Crook, James Crook and sister-in-law, Annie Mae Crook. A private family cryptside service will be held Monday, April 27, 2020 at Carroll Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Larry Patton officiating and Sarah Horton presenting the eulogy.
