Mr. Michael "Mike" Votice Carter, age 86, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024. He was born in Carroll County, Georgia on May 4, 1937, the son of the late Votice Carter and Mary Francis Cole Carter. Mr. Carter retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a devoted member of the Carrollton First Methodist Church. He found joy in cheering for Georgia football and following Nascar races. However, his greatest passion was reserved for his family, particularly relishing moments spent watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren play sports.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Carter; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Lisa Carter, Ricky Carter, Michael and Angie Carter, Chad and Libby Carter, Luke Carter; grandchildren, Anna (Logan) Blanton, Adam (Christine) Carter, Kassia Carter, Blaine (Shelby) Carter, Sydney (Will) Landrum, Addison, Wyatt, and Colt Carter; great-grandchildren, Hayes Blanton, Sloan Blanton, Jackson Carter, Lawson Carter, Miller Carter, and one due in May; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Laddie Carter. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Carter.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 2 PM, at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Patton officiating and Mr. Trey Cantrell delivering the eulogy. Music will be provided by Joey Musick. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the hour of service.
Interment will take place in Carroll Memory Gardens with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Logan Blanton, Adam Carter, Blaine Carter, Will Landrum, Teddy Joe Cantrell, Wyatt Carter, and Colt Carter.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Mr. Carter's memory may make a memorial contribution to Carrollton First Methodist Church, 206 Newnan Street, Carrollton, GA 30117.
