On February 16, 2025, Mike joined Jesus and many family members in Heaven. He fought the fight and kept the faith.

Mike was born on August 15, 1958, in El Paso, Texas to the late William (Bill) and Sara Thompson Entrekin. They were happy to add a son to their family. His sister, Gita E. Spratlin, was excited to add her one and only brother. Bill was a career Army dad and the family enjoyed living in Germany, Texas, Florida, and Georgia.

Mike often said that he and Gita had the best life ever. Moving around the world was part of life they expected to occur every three years. Meeting new friends, going to different schools, and going to church with wonderful Christians was a special benefit of military life.

Mike was educated at Central, in Carrollton, for portions of three academic school years, while his dad was in France, Germany, and Viet Nam. In Baumholder, Germany and Mannheim, Germany, he enjoyed being with other military kids. Lankford Junior High School and the Academy of Richmond County, both in Augusta, Georgia, were the places he found great pleasure participating in band, chorus, and JROTC. While in JROTC, he was in the Honor Guard and the Cadet Chorus. Ultimately, he was the commander of the Cadet Chorus. He made many friends while at Richmond. The Community Chorus was an organization he completely enjoyed. Practices and performances were the highlight of his days.

Faith played a huge part in Mike's life. Moving and visiting family in Carroll County meant he was a guest or member of many churches, including Indian Creek Baptist Church, Tabernacle Baptist Church, Bethesda Baptist Church, Marks Baptist Church, in Augusta Georgia, Shiloh Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Ephesus Baptist Church, Son Rise Baptist Church, and Harmony Baptist Church. Mike accepted Christ as his Savior while living in Mannheim, Germany. He was baptized at Fellowship Baptist Church, an English – speaking Southern Baptist Church. While in Mannheim, Mike started singing duets with his sister. The first song "At Calvary" rewarded him with home-made ice-cream. Until he was no longer able, he and Gita would sing for revivals, funerals, weddings, worship services, and Vacation Bible Schools. Using his talent and abilities for the Lord led him to become a music minister at the following churches: Shiloh Baptist Church, Graham, Alabama; Salem Baptist Church, Carrollton, Georgia; Ephesus Baptist Church, Roopville, Georgia; and Harmony Baptist Church, Carrollton, Georgia.

Mike had several careers/jobs including: Carrollton Ford Tractor, Southwire Company, Pearl Vision Center, Walmart Vision Center, and OFS. Working with intricate wire at OFS brought him many new friends who became his family. Recently Amanda took him to see his OFS work family. Mike was very proud of the picture that was made that day. It had been almost two years since he had been able to work and be with them daily. Mike was a die-hard Braves fan, whether they won or lost he cheered for them. During the years his family lived in Germany, he and his dad listed to them on the American radio and imagined what the action looked like.

Mike met Amanda Smith, the love of his life, at Harmony Baptist Church, and on Sunday, November 26, 2017 he asked her to be his wife, and on December 27, 2017 they were married. They enjoyed eight wonderful years together. Mike's final wish was for people to remember his smile and his love for Jesus.

Spratlin, Woodland, Alabama; oldest son, Joseph Entrekin, Woodland, Alabama; youngest son, Timothy (Jessica) Entrekin, LaGrange, Georgia; Grandsons, Will Entrekin, Carrollton, Georgia, and Nathan Entrekin, LaGrange, Georgia; bonus children: Benjamin Arrington, Bremen, Georgia; Dillan (Stephanie) Arrington, Bremen, Georgia; Olivia Arrington, Bowdon, Georgia; Mason Arrington, Bowdon, Georgia; bonus grandchildren: DJ Arrington, Bremen, Georgia; honorary sisters: Rhonda (Barrett) Lawler, Cullman, Alabama; Lynn Spratlin (Kyle Short) Woodland, Alabama; Margaret (Mike) Jackson, Woodland, Alabama; niece, Sally (Joe) Alcock; nephew, Wade (Lucy) Spratlin; great nieces, Waverly Alcock, Daphne Alcock; great nephews, Andy Spratlin, William Spratlin; and his mother-in-law, Christa Eppert of Temple, Georgia.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his nephew Jonathan David West; his brother in love, Kenneth Spratlin; and his father-in-law, Randy Smith.

The family will receive friends at Harmony Baptist Church on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 6 pm to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Harmony Baptist Church, Carrollton, Georgia, with Rev. Anthony Puckett and Rev. Tony Morris presiding.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be Harmony Baptist Church, 1594 Bowdon Junction Rd., Carrollton, Georgia 30117 or to the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 32948 AL-48, Graham, Alabama 36263.

Interment will follow the service at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Graham, Alabama with Joe Sensenig, Chris Lanning, John Cramer, Greg Horton, Chris Moore and Tony Vance serving as pallbearers.
