Michael F. Martin, age 82, of Fairplay, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026. He was born on February 20, 1943 and lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and a willingness to help anyone in need.

Affectionately known as "Papa" or "Old Man" to those who loved him, Michael was a steady and familiar presence to his family and friends. He worked as a pressman at Color Graphics for over 30 years, where his strong work ethic and reliability were well known and respected.

Michael found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved cutting firewood, working on tractors, and spending time outdoors. Above all, he cherished time with his family, whether lending a helping hand, sharing stories, or simply being there when he was needed

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Thelma Arlene Martin; his daughter, Christy Martin; his son and daughter-in-law, Jamie and Carla Martin; his grandchildren, Kristen Morris, Kohl Martin, and Abby Martin; his great-grandchildren, Aiden Morris and Grayson Morris; his brother, Doyle Martin; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Luther J. Martin; his mother, Elouise Odene Wallace; and his brother, Milton Martin.

Michael F. Martin will be deeply missed and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
