Ms. Marylynn Janean Black age 22, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on January 20, 2025.

Marylynn was born on April 2, 2002 in Cobb County, Georgia the daughter of Luane Jean Black and James Robert Black II. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carrollton, Georgia and attended the First Baptist Church in Villa Rica, Georgia.

Marylynn was a 2019 graduate of Carrollton High School. She had a long career playing volleyball which began with her playing for the Carrollton Recreation Depart where her father was the coach. Then she played Travel Ball with the A5 South Travel Club in Tyrone, Georgia followed by her playing for Carrollton High School. She had a love for animals and sports cars especially her Subaru BRZ. One of her proudest moments was when she became an aunt at the age of eight to her niece, Harper. Marylynn was loved by many friends and her family and never met a stranger.

Survivors include her mother and father, Luane and James Black; sisters Janie Black Bryan, Julie Black; niece, Harper Grace Bryan; paternal grandmother, Mimi Black; maternal grandmother, Phyllis Armstrong and many friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Rollin Black Sr.; maternal grandfather, Gordon Armstrong and her uncle, Eddie Black with whom she shared a birthday.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church, 1483 W. Hwy 78, Villa Rica, GA 30180 with Pastor Austin Williams and Dr. Steve Davis officiating.
