Mrs. Mary Eula Cheatham Thomas, age 88, of Pleasant Hill Rd, Elberton, formerly of Oak Grove Road, Temple passed away Friday, November 26, 2010. Mrs. Thomas was born in Bogart, GA on July 12, 1922, the daughter of the late Norman L. Cheatham and Minnie Mae Walls Cheatham. She was a graduate of Draughn's Business College in Atlanta, Georgia, retired Records Room Clerk with the Fulton County Courthouse and was a member of Abilene Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Pat and Dr. Larry Siefferman of Elberton, Susan Thomas of Villa Rica; sister, Martha Ann Carraway of East Point; grandchildren, Aaron (Janice) Calloway, Alison (Staff Sgt. Richard) Band, LeAnn Siefferman, four great granddaughters, cousins, Ed Walls of Jackson County, Bernice Lord of Bogart, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Thomas; sisters, Lucy Mac Atkins, Irene Lord, Clara Hemperly; grandmother and grandfather, Julia Anne Craft Walls and Hiram Walls of Statham; uncle, Wes Walls of Commerce and cousin, Miss Monty Cheatham of Jefferson. Graveside service and interment was Sunday, November 28 at 4 P.M. at Abilene Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Larry Siefferman officiated.
