Obituary

Mrs. Mary Evelina Townsend Peeples, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 27, 2013. She was 88. Mrs. Peeples a native of Lulu, Florida was born on October 7, 1924, the daughter of the late Henry Call Townsend and Christina Gillen Townsend. She was formerly of Callahan, Florida and moved to Carrollton, Georgia eight years ago to be near her family. She spent most of her life giving of herself as a caregiver and was a faithful member of Roopville Road Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Richard Hill of Queen Creek, Arizona; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Lisa Peeples of Carrollton, Georgia; grandchildren and their spouses, Sheila and Bobby Traylor, Barry and Diana Giddens, Sara Giddens, Jeff and Jenny Hill, Mike and Alesha Hill, Chris and April Hill, Kristen Peeples, Kourtney and Kirk Richeson; 10 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Hazel Townsend, Maria Townsend; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Giddens; second husband, Harold Peeples; son, Donald Giddens; grandson, Chuck Giddens; brothers, Robert (Bob) Townsend, George (Gee) Townsend and sister, Margaret Mayhew. The family will receive friends at Roopville Road Baptist Church on Monday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. A service celebrating the home going of Mrs. Mary Peeples will be Tuesday, April 30 at 11 a.m. at Roopville Road Baptist Church with Dr. Stephen Peeples officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Hill, Mike Hill, Kirk Richeson, Mahlon Lane, Danny Dinning, and Brian Jackson. Interment will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Roopville Road Baptist Church, Together Faith for the Future Building Fund, 835 N. Hwy 27, Roopville, Georgia 30170.
