Martha Sue Lambert
Smith
Sep 17, 1938 — Jun 8, 2025
Mrs. Martha Sue Lambert Smith, age 86, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
Born on September 17, 1938, in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Newton Lambert and Sarah Josephine Douglas Lambert Burns. After the loss of her father at an early age, she later gained a stepfather, Foster Burns.
Martha Sue began her career working in the classifieds department of the Times-Georgian, but her greatest joy came in starting a family. She later worked with Carroll Realty Insurance and ultimately retired from the Admissions Department at West Georgia College, now the University of West Georgia.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. A dedicated member of New Hope Methodist Church, she served faithfully in numerous roles throughout the years and was also a devoted supporter of Bethel Camp Meeting. She participated in the Walk to Emmaus and later served on several walks, pouring into others the same love and encouragement that she lived by daily. Her famous pound cake and home-cooked meals were extensions of her servant's heart, always shared with joy and generosity.
Above all, Martha Sue treasured her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her greatest pride was watching her family grow and thrive, and she supported each of them with unwavering love and prayer.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Corey) Webb and Laura (Butch) Thornton; grandchildren, Kirstin (Sam) Robison, Kobie (Alison) Webb, Kace (Madison) Webb, Emmalee Jakubiak and her fiancé Dakota Browning, and Mason Jakubiak; great-grandchildren, Jude Robison, Swayze Robison, Radnor Robison, Jett Webb, and Woods Webb, expected in October; sister, Jane Lambert (Mack) Johnson; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Lee Smith, and her brother, Douglas Newton Lambert.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Almon Funeral Home.
A Celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Almon Funeral Home, with Sam Robison and Joy Smith Griffin officiating. Music will be provided by Mark Witham and Cathy Gambrell.
Interment will follow in the New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kobie Webb, Kace Webb, Mason Jakubiak, Dakota Browning, Mark Johnson, and Kenneth Smith.
