Mrs. Martha Kennedy Crawford, age 86, of Merritt Island, Florida, formerly of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013. She was born on August, 28, 1926 in Princeton, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Clarence Cecil Kennedy and Laura Ruth Gray Kennedy. Mrs. Crawford retired as Carroll County Chief Clerk in the Registrar Office and is of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include her husband, James C. Crawford; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Stephen C. Crawford and Victoria J. Powell of Madison, Mississippi; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Crawford Bates and Michael Bates of Merritt Island, FL; grandchildren, Darwin Crawford, Lily Crawford, Hayleigh Crawford, Robinson Crawford, Noah Bates, and Adam Bates. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Jean Crawford and brother, Cecil (Pete) Kennedy. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 19 at 2 pm from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Dr. Howard Cobble. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and members of the Seekers Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 pm to 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to House of Hope, P. O. Box 416, Carrollton, GA 30112.
