Lurlie Ruth Sheffield Lassetter, 81, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

She was born on May 6, 1943, in Rome, Georgia, daughter of the late Henry Dooley Sheffield and Opal Houston Sheffield.

Mrs. Lassetter retired as a school clerk at Sandhill Elementary School and was an active member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was part of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, the WMU, and had formerly sung in the adult choir, taught Girls in Action and worked in Vacation Bible School. Additionally, she helped establish the church library and enjoyed sending cards to friends and shut-ins, staying connected with loved ones.

She had a variety of hobbies, including crocheting, needlework, ceramics, painting, flower arranging, and cake decorating. She also enjoyed following Georgia football.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lassetter; her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa (Keith) Nolen of Carrollton; her sisters, Betty Conner of Douglasville and Irene Rose of Carrollton; and many special cousins. Lurlie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Nancy Sheffield.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 2 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Minister John Latimer and Rev. Mike Harris officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until the service hour.

Interment will follow in Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with Steve Lassetter, David Lassetter, Donnie Ray Lassetter, Steve Sheffield, and Kenneth Yates serving as pallbearers. WMU will serve as honorary pallbearers.
