Obituary

Mrs. Lucy Anna Gay, 71, of Carrollton, GA passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Mrs. Gay was born in Huntington, WV on February 28, 1941, the daughter of the late John Franklin Morris and Trula Carmen McDaniel. She received her BA in English at Mary Baldwin College and MED at the University of West Georgia. Mrs. Gay helped start the EEG Lab at Tanner Medical Center and later was an English Teacher at Oak Mountain Academy. She was a volunteer for the Soup Kitchen, Habitat for Humanity where she served on the selection committee and member of the Carrollton Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder. She is survived by her husband, Dr. James Thomas Gay, daughter, Abigail Gay of Carrollton, sisters and brothers-in-law, Trula Carter Crosier and Lee of Lynchburg, VA and Jane Franklin Curlee and Max of Charlotte, NC. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 14 at 2:30 P. M. at the Carrollton Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jan Tolbert and Dr. David Shelor officiating. The family will receive friends in Westminister Fellowship Hall Friday from 1 p. m. until 2:30.
