Mrs. Libby Folsom Thomasson, a resident of Carrollton for 63 years before moving to Gainesville, Georgia died Monday, June 30, 2014. She was born in Pompano Beach, Florida on May 28, 1928, the daughter of the late Joseph Royal Folsom and Myrtle Elizabeth Swearingan Folsom. Her life in Carrollton was full with many good friends and a busy schedule of activities that included serving others in many capacities. Libby was an active member of Carrollton First United Methodist Church serving as a Sunday School teacher, Bible Study group leader for over 25 years, Superintendent of the Primary Dept., Alter Guild and a member of the Believer's Class. She was a leader for both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and was a member of the Spade and Trowel Club. In 2009, Libby and Frank relocated to Gainesville, Georgia where she was loved by all who knew her. Survivors include her children, Tommy (Anne) Thomasson of Carrollton, Beth (Dan) Procter of Gainesville, Amy (Bill) Little of Troutville, Virginia; grandchildren, Amelia Thomasson (Chris) Perry of Carrollton, Tee Thomasson of Carrollton, Charley (Nirali) Procter of Atlanta, Zach (Ashley) Procter of Lawrenceville, Cole Little of Charleston, South Carolina, Elizabeth Little (Landon) Aldridge of Richmond, Virginia; brother, Joseph R. (Nancy) Folsom of Ellijay and sister-in-law, Kathleen (Steele) Malone of Bainbridge. Six great grandchildren, Madeline Aldridge, Kaelyn Procter, Fallon Perry, Dillon, Kiran and Kamran Procter. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Frank T. Thomasson, Jr. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Thursday, July 17 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. A Celebration of her life will be held at the Carrollton First United Methodist Church, Friday, July 18 at 11 a.m. The members of the Believer's Class are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers.
