Mrs. LeJeune Wingo Otwell, age 66, of Bremen, Georgia, passed away Friday, May 10, 2013. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama on Sept. 30, 1946, the daughter of Wardine Wingo-Smith and the late Woodrow Wingo. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Otwell; mother, Wardine Wingo-Smith of Birmingham, Alabama; daughters and sons-in-law, Cassandra and Ricky Thrower of Eastaboga, Alabama, Darlene and Kyle Bradshaw of Buford, Georgia; grandsons, Michael Strickland, Timothy Thrower; granddaughter, Riley Bradshaw; great grandson, Cameron Strickland; brothers, Woodrow (Buster) Wingo and Stephen Wingo. LeJeune graduated from Munford High School in Munford, Alabama. She worked as a seamstress with Hubbard Pants Company after graduation. She later worked at Southwire Company in Carrollton for over 20 years and retired from there in 2001. After retirement she attended West Georgia Technical College in their Surgical Technician program but was unable to complete those courses due to illness. She was a member of the Bremen First Methodist Church. Her interests were gardening, horses, sewing, and SCUBA diving. She served for a while as a volunteer Pink Lady with Higgins General Hospital in Bremen, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Hancock officiating. A graveside service and interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Birmingham, Alabama on Monday, May 13 at 2 p.m.(CST).
