Obituary

Mrs. Khia Ann Thomas passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021. Khia was born on April 9, 1975 in Carrollton, GA the daughter of Virginia Cook Webb and the late James Reese Webb. She was a paraprofessional and substitute teacher for the Mount Zion School District and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Khia enjoyed building crafts, decorating, cooking, and spending time with her family and fur babies. Khia was diagnosed with cancer in April 2016 and was determined to overcome the obstacles that she knew would come with that diagnosis. Throughout her journey, her faith never wavered and she showed grit, resilience, and great determination. Everyone who knew Khia knew that she loved life and lived hers with fierceness and a positive outlook. Khia loved to help others in any way she could and tried to offer others encouragement, even in the midst of her own struggles. Survivors include her husband Jeff Thomas; daughter, Kaleigh Webb; mother, Virginia Cook Webb; sister, Tammy (Steve) Leigh Jiles; niece, Jenny (Masen) Jiles; nephew, Jay (Leah) Jiles; great nephews, Cameron and Jordan; great niece, Jillian and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rickey and Debbie Thomas. Besides her father she was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffery Scott Webb. The family will receive friends at Almon Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Almon Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Bowman officiating. Due to Covid-19 the family asks that those in attendance please wear a mask. Pallbearers will be Carson Sewell, Cameron Grance, Masen McIntyre, Clayton Little, Keith Harris and Jay Jiles. Honorary pallbearers will be Kele Sewell and David Shadix. Interment will be in Old Camp United Methodist Church Cemetery. Messages of condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.almonfuneralhome.com.
